Skimmers ... skim along the waters edge, flying low with the lower bill slicing thru the water, usually in pairs ... as soon as the bill touches a fish the upper bill snaps down instantly to catch it .
To be in the middle of a flock of these gorgeous creatures is magical. Resting, nesting, they gather on the shorelines & feed mostly in the mornings & evenings
